หลักสูตรปริญญาตรี

หลักสูตรวิชาโทภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสารเชิงวิชาชีพ เป็นหลักสูตรพัฒนาทักษะเฉพาะศาสตร์ มีองค์ประกอบหลัก 2 ส่วน

ส่วนแรกคือ เนื้อหาหรือศาสตร์ทางด้านการฟัง การพูด การอ่าน และการเขียนภาษาอังกฤษ ซึ่งผู้เรียนสามารถศึกษาได้จากในห้องเรียน การศึกษาด้วยตนเองตามอัธยาศัยผ่านสื่อออนไลน์ หรือกิจกรรมเสริม ส่วนที่สองคือ การนำองค์ความรู้จากส่วนแรกมาประยุกต์ใช้ในชีวิตจริงนอกห้องเรียนหรือสถานการณ์จริงกับชาวต่างชาติจากหลากหลายวัฒนธรรม

หลักสูตรได้รับการออกแบบและพัฒนาให้มีความทันสมัยในด้านเนื้อหาและวิธีการเรียนการสอนในระดับมาตรฐานสากลโดยใช้ Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) เป็นกรอบมาตรฐานในการอ้างอิง นอกจากนี้ยังมีการจัดการเรียนการสอนในรูปแบบผสมผสาน Hybrid Learning กับรายวิชาที่เหมาะสม เพื่อให้ผู้เรียนมีความสามารถใช้ทักษะทางภาษาอังกฤษเป็นเครื่องมือในการพัฒนาทักษะแห่งอนาคตและมีความสามารถแข่งขันในตลาดแรงงาน

รายวิชาที่เปิดสอน

Students will practice reading skills, especially reading for information and understanding the author’s message. Lessons will include reviewing sentence patterns, specifically those commonly found in written English and reading authentic English texts from simple to more advanced ones. Students will be able to comprehend written texts by identifying sentence structure and deriving the meaning of unknown words using context clues. How to enlarge one’s vocabulary will also be taught.

Course Syllabus

This course is designed to improve students’ writing skills. Emphasis is placed on developing the skills of writing sentences and paragraphs. Students will develop the ability to recognize different types of sentences and paragraphs and understand the role they play in various types of writing. Regular practice in writing topic sentences, supporting sentences, and full paragraphs will allow students to become skilled writers within a variety of contexts.

This course aims to improve students’ English oral communication and listening skills in an academic environment. They will practice communication for academic purposes, listening to materials from diverse sources such as lectures, seminars, and news reports. The course provides techniques for public speaking, along with opportunities for participating in debates and group discussions.

This course aims to broaden and enhance student perspectives of the import-export business through development and practice of English language skills related to the field. The course content includes major topics relevant to import-export business/ international trade issues including Currency Exchange, International Organizations, Border Trade, Copyright and Intellectual Property, Containerization, and Electronic Commerce. Students will furthermore increase their proficiency in reading and writing English business documents specifically related to the import-export business e. g. letter of credit, invoices, bill of exchange, and bill of lading. Through presentations and roleplays in class, students will apply the technical terms and relevant concepts in import-export business in mock-up situations. Classroom activities and assignments will provide students with opportunities to practice English skills in the contexts related to import-export business.

Students enrolled in English for Mass Communication 1 will practice using language skills common to the field of mass communication. They will learn to identify the features of writing for media and gain the necessary skills to construct their own news articles. Students will learn the features of a successful media campaign and practice conducting one of their own. Vocabulary specific to the mediums of print media, radio, podcasts, film, and television will be practiced in appropriate contexts. This course aims to further expand students’ understanding of the English used by professionals in the field of economics and develop their higher-level academic skills. It begins with a review of basic macroeconomic and academic concepts before exploring a range of economic situations with both a local and global focus. Throughout the course students are provided with stimulating and diverse text types to develop their reading and comprehension abilities, while listening to talks, discussions, lectures, radio shows, and presentations. Students are encouraged to engage with pressing economic issues as well as learn how to communicate their own points of view in group discussions. Advanced academic skills are expanded and evaluated in the form of an essay and academic presentation.
