ผู้นำด้านการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษในระดับสากล
Who we are
ก่อนอื่นเลยขอแนะนำตัวให้ทุกคนรู้จัก สถาบันภาษาเป็นหน่วยงานหนึ่งในมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ (จริงๆ สถานะของเราคือ “สถาบัน” ซึ่งก็เทียบเท่ากับคณะนั่นแหละ) ที่ดูแลการเรียนการสอนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาปริญญาตรี ไม่ว่าจะเป็นวิชา TUxxx รวมถึงวิชา ELxxx ที่มีให้เลือกมากมาย
เราไม่มีนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีอยู่ในสังกัด แต่จะมีนักศึกษาป.โท และป.เอก ในหลักสูตรการสอนภาษาอังกฤษ หรือ ELT ง่ายๆ คือใครที่อยากเป็นครูสอนภาษาอังกฤษ…ไม่ควรพลาด อีกหลักสูตรหนึ่งคือภาษาอังกฤษเพื่ออาชีพ ก็คือเรียนเพื่อให้ใช้ภาษาอังกฤษได้อย่างมืออาชีพในหน้าที่การงานนั่นเอง
สถาบันภาษายังเป็นผู้จัดทดสอบความรู้ภาษาอังกฤษด้วย เราเป็นผู้จัดสอบ TU-GET ข้อสอบมาตรฐานระดับสากลเพื่อใช้วัดความสามารถในการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเชิงวิชาการ ปัจจุบันข้อสอบ TU-GET มี 2 แบบคือ TU-GET (PBT) แบบกระดาษคำตอบ และแบบใหม่ล่าสุดที่เราภูมิใจนำเสนอคือ TU-GET (CBT) ทดสอบผ่านคอมพิวเตอร์ ทั้ง 4 ทักษะ คือ ฟัง พูด อ่าน เขียน ข้อสอบ TU-GET (CBT) นี้เทียบได้กับข้อสอบ TOEFL (iBT) ทั้งคะแนนและวิธีการสอบ ใครที่สนใจทดสอบความรู้ภาษาอังกฤษของตัวเอง เพื่อตัดสินใจนำคะแนนไปใช้เรียนต่อ แนะนำให้มาลองสอบดู
นอกจากนี้ยังจัดสอบ TU-STEPS ที่เทียบเคียงได้กับ TOEIC และ TU-SET ข้อสอบวัดระดับภาษาอังกฤษของนักเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษา ที่ได้มาตรฐานตามเกณฑ์ CEFR ด้วย
สถาบันภาษาเชี่ยวชาญมากในวงการวิชาการและวิจัยเกี่ยวกับการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษ เราได้ร่วมงานกับหน่วยงานอื่นๆ มากมายทั้งในประเทศและนานาชาติ ในการจัดประชุมและสัมมนาต่างๆ ดังนั้น ถ้าใครได้มาเรียนกับเรา ก็มั่นใจได้เลยว่าจะได้ประสบการณ์และความรู้จากผู้เชี่ยวชาญแน่นอน
ป.ล. ถึงแม้จะชื่อสถาบันภาษา แต่เราสอนแต่ภาษาอังกฤษนะ

” Moving towards its 38th anniversary, LITU will restrengthen its commitment to providing English language education services of superior quality. While facing new challenges, we will rethink our approach to teaching English to the Thai and non-Thai members of intercultural communities. Keeping in mind about their specific needs, we will redesign our courses and curriculums to help learners reach their particular goals in mastering and utilizing English. With a strong background in language research and graduate programs (MA and PhD), we will renew our plans to produce and disseminate research relating to English Language Teaching in the global perspective. Retransforming our specialization will prepare us to lead and stay ahead of changes that may come in the new decade and beyond.”
