Thammasat University’ s School English Test (TU-SET)
What is TU-SET?
The Language Institute of Thammasat University offers a test that can measure the English proficiency of primary and secondary school students in regular and EP programs in Thai schools. This test provides results that are valid indicators of Thai students’ language ability in the areas of grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
What does TU-SET consist of?
The TU-SET test consists of six parts :

Parts I – IV are usually included in a 2-hour test.
Part V (Writing) is a separate section usually given during a one-hour period.
Part VI (Interview) lasts about 5 – 7 minutes for each student.
How are test results reported?
- A score report presents a raw score in each part.
- A score report presents each student’s English proficiency level in comparison with another student’s (Achievement Grades).
- A score report shows each student’s achievement average score he/she receives in each part.
What is a credential for a successful examinee?
A successful examinee who receives a passing score will be granted a CERTIFICATE from the Language Institute of Thammasat University
Where does a test take place?
A test takes place at a school where students study. A team of TU-SET staff will visit the school and administer a test for students. A test can take place at any school in any part of Thailand.
What is a charge for a TU-SET test?
A range of 350 – 800 baht per student depending on the number of students and the test venue
